Combating corruption: opportunities and challenges

Baytal-Hikma Participates in the Sixth Edition of the “Islam is Life” Conference
Baytal-Hikma, represented by Dr. Qahtan Naama Al-Khafaji, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, took part in the Sixth Scientific Conference organized by the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Warith Al-Anbiya (peace be upon him) under the patronage of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, on Saturday, August 30, 2025. The conference was held under the theme: “Combating Corruption: Opportunities and Challenges.”
The conference aimed to explore the current challenges related to administrative and financial corruption, while presenting innovative academic perspectives and solutions. It also sought to strengthen the role of state institutions and supporting organizations in reducing the obstacles facing anti-corruption efforts, thereby contributing to the improvement of daily life for individuals and society as a whole.
Dr. Qahtan Naama Al-Khafaji, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, participated in a panel session where he presented a research paper addressing the profound concept of integrity and its essential impact on assessing the human journey. He emphasized that integrity is a vital element that directly affects human life and highlighted its importance in building cohesive societies. The conference also featured keynote speeches delivered by representatives of the sponsoring and organizing bodies.
Baytal-Hikma’s participation reflected its role as a supportive academic institution, underscoring a scientific and intellectual orientation towards engaging with cultural and research-based institutions that contribute to national efforts in combating corruption and promoting the principles of justice and sustainable development. The fight against corruption, as stressed during the sessions, is a collective responsibility that requires collaboration across academic, institutional, religious, and societal sectors to build a future founded on justice and transparency.
The conference witnessed broad academic participation, along with a prominent presence of political, religious, and cultural figures, and was extensively covered by both local and international media outlets.
