Bayt Al-Hikma and the Ministry of Interior Discuss Mechanisms for Scientific and Academic Cooperation
In light of the significant openness demonstrated by Bayt Al-Hikma (House of Wisdom) towards all state institutions, the Head of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Qahtan Ni'ma Hassan Al-Khafaji, received a delegation from the Ministry of Interior – Directorate of Public Relations, today, Tuesday, November 18, 2025. The delegation was headed by the Head of the Friends of the Interior Division, Brigadier General Ali Al-Khayyat, accompanied by the Director of the Media Development Center, Mr. Sabeeh Al-Miryani, and the Coordinator, Colonel Laith Kadhim.
Dr. Qahtan Al-Khafaji welcomed the visiting delegation and provided a comprehensive explanation of the nature of the relationship between government institutions and the necessity of their communication to achieve integrated efforts that serve the Iraqi citizen at all levels. He particularly emphasized cooperation between academic and executive institutions, which ensures that these efforts are grounded in a scientific basis through the research and studies provided by these institutions, whether they are research centers, universities, or educational bodies.
For his part, Brigadier General Ali Al-Khayyat expressed his thanks and appreciation for the warm reception and the preparation of the meeting's topics. He expressed his great admiration for the distinguished work presented by Bayt Al-Hikma institution in the security, social, and economic aspects, which it shares with the security and service agencies within the Ministry of Interior. He valued the significant role played by Bayt Al-Hikma through its historical, scientific, and administrative position in monitoring many negative phenomena in Iraqi society, setting appropriate solutions for them, and holding conferences, seminars, and workshops to put them on the table for scientific discussion.
The meeting included the presentation of a proposal to be adopted by Bayt Al-Hikma and the concerned authorities regarding security, economic, and social affairs. This proposal focuses on the possibility of drawing up a National Strategy to Address Violent Extremism and Social Deviations, following the increase in cases of community violence and the emergence of deviant social practices that are alien to our social reality and violate the civilized, ethical, and value-based heritage of Iraqi society.
The meeting was attended by the Vice-Head of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Muhannad Abdul Hassan, and the Director of Public Relations and Media, Mr. Muthaffar Al-Rubaie.
