Personal Data Security in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
Bayt Al-Hikma – Department of Total Quality Management and Institutional Development organized an awareness lecture for employees entitled “Personal Data Security in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” on Sunday, 8 February 2026, at the Mirror Hall of Bayt Al-Hikma, in the presence of the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bayt Al-Hikma, Dr. Muhannad Abdul Hassan Jallab.
The session was chaired by Ms. Sumaya Ma‘n Abdul Hussein, Head of the Department of Total Quality Management and Institutional Development at Bayt Al-Hikma. The lecture was delivered by Chief Engineer Mr. Hussam Khalil Khudair, Director of the Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence Division at Bayt Al-Hikma.
The lecture shed light on the security of personal and financial data amid the increasing expansion of artificial intelligence applications and the accompanying cyber challenges. It aimed to raise awareness of digital risks, promote a culture of privacy protection, and clarify the role of individuals in building a secure digital environment.
The speaker reviewed the concept of personal data and its types, explaining the difference between public and sensitive data and the importance of individuals’ awareness of the value of their digital data. He also addressed the protection of financial data and electronic cards, highlighting the most common methods of electronic fraud and ways to prevent them.
The lecture further discussed the role of artificial intelligence in data collection and analysis, along with the challenges related to digital privacy in the smart era. It also reviewed cyber threats targeting personal data and the means to counter them.
In addition, the lecturer addressed data security in AI-based systems, emphasizing the importance of building secure systems from the design stage. He also highlighted the role of artificial intelligence in detecting financial fraud and preventing manipulation and fraud in digital transactions. The lecture touched on the legal and ethical challenges associated with data security, stressing individuals’ responsibility to protect personal and financial data, and concluded with an outlook toward a secure future for personal digital data in light of the rapid development of smart technologies.
In conclusion, the attendees emphasized the importance of such scientific activities in raising the level of digital awareness and promoting a culture of safe technology use, in line with the requirements of the modern era, through discussions and feedback
