Bayt al-Hikma Commemorates Victims of Terrorism on the National Day of Genocide
In solemn remembrance of Iraq's martyrs and victims of genocide, Bayt al-Hikma organized a mourning gathering on Sunday, August 3, 2025, marking the National Day of Genocide against the Yazidis and other Iraqi communities. The event honored the memory of those who perished at the hands of terrorist groups—particularly the remnants of the extremist ISIS organization—which carried out heinous acts of killing, displacement, and abuse against Yazidis, Christians, and other Iraqi minorities in Mosul, the Nineveh Plain, Salah al-Din, Anbar, and Diyala.
The commemoration included a speech by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Qahtan Neama Hassan al-Khafaji, who extended his condolences to the families of terrorism victims across Iraq, offering prayers for the souls of the righteous martyrs. He expressed strong condemnation of all acts of genocide endured by the Iraqi people, emphasizing that no segment of society was spared from these atrocities, reflecting their shared pain and tragedy.
Mr. Mudhaffar Al-Rubaie, Director of Public Relations and Media, highlighted the pivotal role of the Supreme Religious Authority in Najaf as a steadfast shield defending Iraq and the dignity of its people. He noted that the authority issued the fatwa of defensive jihad, which was met with widespread support from Iraqis across all provinces, uniting in the fight against ISIS and reclaiming their homeland from the grip of terror.
The attendees observed a moment of silence and recited Al-Fatiha in honor of the martyrs. This commemoration was held in response to the directive of the Prime Minister, marking the annual remembrance of the genocide against the Yazidis and other Iraqi groups on August 3 each year. |
